Online TDG For Ground Transport (Road)
Each day, millions of hazardous products are transported throughout Canada in a variety of methods including ground, air, rail and shipping. It is essential for the safety of all Canadians that the risk of mishaps is minimized. As a result, legislative requirements are in place to address the movement, inspection and enforcement with respect to Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG). These regulations provide a means of communicating the nature and level of risks associated with various chemicals and other products.
The TDG regulations require that, with few exceptions, every person engaged in the handling, offering for transport or transporting of dangerous goods be trained in the aspects of handling such goods. This means that any worker (including shippers, receivers, drivers, loaders, cargo handlers, lift truck operators, dock workers, tow motor operators, freight handlers or warehouse operators) who comes into contact with dangerous goods which are prepared for or received via some form of transportation is required to take TDG training. These individuals must have a clear understanding of their responsibilities and have proof of training (certificate).
